Bookings made online (Other than at www.thebaxter.eu)

  • When booking online you will be charged a deposit by the booking agent. This is taken by the booking agent and not The Baxter Hostel and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Any questions or concerns regarding your deposit should be taken up with the relevant booking engine.
  • The outstanding balance must be paid in full when you arrival at The Baxter Hostel, and is non-refundable.

Bookings made online with the Baxter at www.thebaxter.eu

When you book directly with The Baxter Hostel either by phone, via our website or on our Facebook page:

  • To secure your booking you may be asked to pay in full for the first two night’s accommodation. This amount will only be refundable if you have given us notice 48 hours prior to 10am on the day of your arrival.
  • The outstanding balance must be paid in full when you arrival at The Baxter Hostel, and is non-refundable.


  • Please ensure the details of your booking are correct as we cannot take responsibility for any mistakes made.
  • Check in is from 2pm unless agreed otherwise, Check out is by 10am.
  • All guests must be aged 18 or over.  All guests are required to sign in and have valid photo identification for check in. Acceptable forms of identification are passport or drivers licence.
  • The hostel reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who behaves in an unacceptable manner or is in an unsuitable condition e.g. Drunk and disorderly. In such circumstance no refund of deposit will be offered.
  • Our hostel operates a strict no smoking policy.


  • All cancellations must be made in writing or by email directly with the hostel.
  • To avoid any charges by The Baxter Hostel, cancellation of your booking must be made 48 hours prior to 10am on the day of arrival.

Refund policy

  • For refunds please contact us directly. Refunds will only be made if you paid in full for your first two night’s accommodation and you have given us enough notice of cancellation (see above).
  • No refunds can be made on the deposit taken by a booking engine.
  • Refunds will be made by the same method the payments were made and to the specific card used at the time of booking.

Changes to dates, people or rooms

  • If you want to make changes to the arrival date of your booking please contact The Baxter Hostel Directly.
  • Booking changes are subject to availability.
  • Deposits paid will be not be lost if there is simply a change in the date of arrival provided 48hrs notice prior to the date of arrival has been given.
  • Any changes made to the size of the room, the number of people or the number of nights are subject to a possible loss of some or all deposits paid and to the change in rates for the applicable room.

Weekly Rates, Special Packages and Offers

  • The Baxter Hostel may at times choose to run promotional offers and weekly rates, these will not always be available.
  • Weekly Rates are 100% non-refundable and non-transferable. Please ensure you wish to stay for the full 7 days before booking.
  • To secure your booking of weekly rates, special packages and offers, you will need to pay for the first two nights. This will be equal to the regular price for two night’s accommodation in a like-sized room.

Group bookings

  • Please contact The Baxter hostel directly to make a group, Stag or Hen party booking.
  • Group is defined as a booking for 6 people or more or when booking an entire dorm.
  • All groups must pay a 25% non-refundable deposit when booking.
  • The balance is due 21 working days before arrival.
  • For cancellation of a group booking we will need a notice period of 21 working days before the arrival date otherwise full payment will be taken for the booking.

Pricing & Payment Policy

  • We make every effort to accommodate you in the dormitory size of your choice, however because of the nature of our business, this may not be possible. If the accommodation that you have been changed to is smaller that which you requested, you will not be charged for the difference in price. If we have moved you to a larger dormitory room, your booking will reflect the price of this room. This does not apply to changes made at your request.
  • Our rooms are made up of bunks with two or three tiers, as such you may be allocated the bottom middle or top bunk.  If you have a particular preference you may contact The Baxter directly however we cannot guarantee allocation.
  • We do not accept cheques, except in the case of group bookings.
  • We do accept most credit and debit cards, but not American Express or Diners Club.
  • We do not accept Travellers’ Cheques.
  • We do not accept Euros, US Dollars or any currency other than Pound Sterling.
